The three areas that are embraced by phonetics are the acoustic phonetics, the articulatory phonetics and the auditory phonetics. Forensic Phonetics, one of the guiding areas of this work analyses the production and the perception of the sounds that are produced during the act of speaking, working with a multidisciplinary perspective. This project focuses in the acoustic area, analysing the stop unvoiced consonants. firstly, was presented a theoretical analysis of the stop consonants, comparing the disguised and the normal voice. Secondly, an important cue in speech recognition, the Voice Onset Time, was defined. Taking this under consideration, the main goal of this project was to verify a pattern for voice recognition by analysing the VOT of the stop consonant /p/ at initial position. After that, the differences between feminine and masculine undisguised and disguised voices were compared. The software Praat (BOERSMA; WEENINK, 2014) was used to define the data. The final analysis was made taking the kind of disguise under consideration.
