dc.description.abstract | People’s coexistence with chemistry happens on a daily basis and at all times, although most people can’t mea sure the real importance of this scientific concepts. Even if they have acquired knowledge through common senses they can’t see how Much this science is a part of their lives. For that, scientific knowledge is important, where scientific and technical knowledge add to the comprehension of nature’s phenomena and products that exist in our day to day lives. The goal of this essay is to evaluate the perception of a group of students about the chemistry subject itself, and their expectations before studying chemistry and what has indeed been built at the high school classes. The methodology applied here characterizes as qualitative, Where the methodological process used has based itself on the study of cases, whereupon the main interest was to research a particular situation, being a delimited and defined case. Therefore, through this research it was possible to verify that this small number of had a development in their learning skills. Such perception is given mainly when you compare the answers to the last question: Have you ever had any contact with chemistry outside school? Which is the same question in the 1ˢͭ and 2ᶰͩ worksheets, used as an instrument to getter data. When the students, that have already finished the 3 ͬ ͩ year of high school, explain their contact with chemistry, it’s possible to perceive that in general they show having built a scientific chemical knowledge. | |
