Preparação para a implantação do sistema de gestão ambiental de uma empresa do setor de galvanoplastia

Abstract

The surface treatment activity can cause large impacts on the environment, due to the chemicals that are used. Thus, the implementation of an Environmental Management System (EMS) in a company can be seen as an innovation and improvement for it. In this way, this research aimed the preparation of an enterprise of electroplating industry, for EMS deploying based on ISO 14001:2004. At first, the activities and the productive process of the organization were described, and with this, it was possible to develop the environmental impact assessment. With the methodology of classification for environmental impacts it was possible to identify the generation of solid waste, wastewater generation, water consumption and noise and heat emissions as the aspects that cause the most significant impacts. From there, the environmental management programs with objectives and targets for reducing environmental impacts were prepared. At the end, environmental legal requirements were set and the environmental policy described, showing its commitment to the environment.
