dc.description.abstract | This work describes the software implementation of an optical wireless communication system operating in the visible region that employs the Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) technique. Schemes with different configurations were simulated that take into account the transmitter and receiver localization, the configuration parameters of the OFDM and different method of estimation used, including an method of estimation that was developed within the scope of this work and presents better performance than the least squares estimation method (LLS) technique for linear systems. The dissertation also approaches the operation of the Light Emitting Diode (LED) in the linear and nonlinear regimes. The performance of the system is verified and compared using the average Bit Error Rate (BER) versus the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) relationship obtained through simulation. | |
