dc.description.abstractThe present work presents the development of a genetic algorithm with the objective of optimizing the parameters of a controller to minimize the stationary error of the output of a control system, that is, to find the best values for the zeros, poles and gains of a controller that provides a control response for a given system with a minimized stationary error. There are other methods for determining an optimal result, but the genetic algorithm was chosen for simplifying the formulation and solution of the controller tuning problem. The implementation of the algorithm is done through MatLab software.
