The day-to-day routine has undergone changes due to the notorious growth of the use of mobile devices and the influence of the large number of applications that promise to simplify everyday tasks. The daily routine includes a smartphone as an inseparable companion and the benefits of this relationship depend on the development of useful applications in the routine of its users. During the process of organizing events or academic conferences, the dissemination strategy can be the essential success factor in order to maintain or raise its standard with the target audience. In this context, this work presents the specification and development of a multiplatform mobile application prototype (Android and IOS systems), using the Cordova framework, for the management of social events for academic / scientific purposes. Through the proposed application, participants can get up-to-date information about the schedule, speakers, location of the event in addition to receiving push notifications, facilitating the flow of information ensuring constant updating of all relevant event information. In the proposed usability analysis, participants successfully performed all proposed tasks in a timely manner. The SUS usability questionnaire applied to these users obtained a mean score of 92.5, indicating a satisfactory interaction.
