The goal of this work is about the design of the textile printing for a collection for the Curiô brand, created for academic purposes. The collection is inspired in the Kaingang culture, being composed by fashion pieces, decoration items and objects for personal use. The choice for the Kaingang culture by the Curiô brand is due the concern of the brand to bring social contributions, enriching cultural patrimonies and local identities from culture less privilege by the industry. Besides that, the authors seek to deepen the knowledge about surface design, area little explored in Brazil. The project starts as a theoretical reference about the history, social aspects and visual and material culture of the Kaingang tribe, being this point the great theme of the collection. Following, it is accomplished the study of surface design towards the textile area, in order o deepen the knowledge related to the process of printed textiles, including explanation about the type of prints, module and rapport, its visual elements and repetition systems. In addition to that, it investigates the main industrial processes of printing in fabric; especially those aimed to small-scale production, among them the stamping methods to frame, sublimation and digital. The project methodology used in this work, took place from adaptations of Péon’s studies (2009) and Phillips (2008) in a way to meet the needs of a stamping project. The practical development axis of this work includes the creation of six printed textiles through the method of printing by sublimation. The pieces were developed for the brand Curiô, being this created by the authors for academic purposes. Lastly, it was produced prototypes of some pieces, in order to present the application of the developed prints in finalised products.
