dc.description.abstractThis study aimed to analyze the use of the methodology of government strategic planning as a public management tool by the Municipality of Pariquera-Açu/SP and analyze the use of methodologies such as diagnostic situations, the Balanced Scorecard to assess whether hierarchical levels are involved in managing government strategic planning, also assess whether planning is an action of this administration or all managements, considering the importance of strategic planning in government today, as evidenced in this study, their tools open possibilities for the realization of a public service of the highest quality. The study is characterized as a descriptive investigation in which a questionnaire consisting of closed, dichotomous questions, and style Liket scale was used. The study sample consisted of 43 commissioned positions, freely appointed and even the office of Mayor, totaling 44 positions, with a sampling of 19 of the total, which equates to 43%. The result of the study showed that 79 % of respondents are in positions less than 01 years ago, that other 84% are male and 12% female respondents have mostly has academic training, where 63.15% them have graduation or Masters. For 74% state participation in strategic planning, another 68% say that their staff participate in formulating some sort of planning, 63% for the plans executed by them is an action of this administration and other 37% is all managements. It resulted also that 42% say that the MDS is not applied by the City and another 53% say that the methodology is applied, and further 5% did not answer this question. For the implementation of the Balanced Scorecard, 53% would not apply this tool in your planning, 37% say that applies and another 10% who did not respond. The methodology that respondents less familiar is the Balanced Scorecard, where 50% say they do not know, while 23% do not know the MDS. Thus, it is concluded that the framework of the positions in the City of Pariquera- Açu committee does not have an accurate understanding regarding the use of methodology of Strategic Planning Government, it became clear that the government team of the current administration is not 100% inserted in the preparation, monitoring, tracking, evaluation and correction of this planning, it is evident when analyzing the results of the application of MDS and also the Balanced Scorecard, the team is not received, the construction and application of these tools. Thus it is concluded that the Municipality should invest in government strategic planning as a public management tool, enabling their employees and still investigating whether the current form of this PEG providing efficacy, efficiency and effectiveness in order to meet the quality needs of society.
