dc.description.abstractThis paper presents the study and development of a prototype in order to correct and control automatically the power factor (PF), by means of an over-excited or underexcitation Synchronous Motor (SM). Aimed at improving the control and correction of PF. A computer interface was developed, who’s its main function is to find the PF value by analyzing the angular gap between the angle of the voltage and current from the power supply. It was also implemented in the microcontroller integrative a proportional controller in order to control the field current of the MS, resulting in control PH. The communication between the computer interface, the drive and control the pitch are made by a microcontroller plate and a H bridge drive plates were developed and signal conditioning boards for the control. Experimental results are presented to validate the proposal.
