dc.description.abstract | The measurement of energy supply of the ITAIPU Binacional Hydro Power Plant to the Paraguayan and Brazilian electrical systems is done by using redundant energy meters on each transmission line (500kV, 220kV, 69kV, 66kV and 13.8kV, on both 50Hz and 60Hz) distributed through the Machine House and the Right Bank Sub Station (SEMD). These meters are interconnected using an optical communication network, sending measurement data to a central totalizer located on the Dispatch Room, available for further analysis. This group of devices is denominated as “ITAIPU Binacional’s Energy Measurement and Billing System”. This is one of the systems to be upgraded by the Technical Directorate on the scope of the Technological Upgrade Plan, considered as of high importance due to the commitments assumed by the company on the Paraguayan and Brazilian Market. Because all of this, is necessary to establish a process of Project Management on the stage of Substitution of the Old System, Test and Commissioning and the Putting in to Service of the new system. This process follows the Project Management Book of Knowledge (PMBOK, 2013), that defines the application of knowledge, skills, tools and techniques to the activities of project in order to fulfill the requirements, the way and guarantee the correct execution of the implantation of it within the scope and time established. | |
