dc.description.abstractWinglets are wingtip devices, which are used to reduce the induced drag generated by the difference between under pressure and top pressure of finite wings. In order to replicate this technique widely used in commercial aviation, this work aims to study and simulate the use of Winglet for GRIFO AERODESIGN Team use in the SAE AERODESIGN competition. Initially, validations of simulation and experimentation models already performed are developed. Such validation is done with and without a wingtip device. Then with the help of the literature are selected parameters that help in the optimization of Winglets for the development of a device of its own for the conditions of the Team's wings. After the creation of the device, both wing and wing + Winglets are simulated to compare the results obtained from lift and drag. The application of this device impacted a reduction of 3.8% in drag and 7.59% increase in lift and as a result an improvement in the lift/drag ratio by 11.9%.
