Aluguel social + cultura: multifuncionalidade como agente no processo de reabilitação urbana

Abstract

The following paper aims to provide the foundations of an urban rehabilitation project for one of Downtown Curitiba’s areas: the Rua 13 de Maio (13 de Maio Street). The basis was set through the analysis of concepts as Memory and History, Urban Landscape, Urban Vitality, Urban Diversity and Appropriation of Public Urban Space, these concepts are complementary to each other. Also, the process of urban areas degradation and emptying, the kinds of urban interventions, gentrification associated with these interventions and the concept of Social Rent are necessary for the comprehension of the problem. The project will be an intervention on a block with the proposal to diversify uses through a multifunctional building.
