dc.description.abstractIncreasingly, initiatives aimed at the use of digital resources in everyday school life are perceived as a way of expanding and improving teaching. Thus, the present work aims to insert new technologies for teaching history through tools that are present in the daily lives of students and teachers (smartphones). This process of teaching and learning history will be done through a resource little explored by basic education, but which causes great interest on the part of young people and adolescents: augmented reality (AR). The theme to be addressed for the development of this application is regional history, as the municipality of Francisco Beltrão has numerous monuments that remember important historical even ts that shaped the culture and various other aspects of the city’s development. Through the app, past and present can be joined, real and virtual, because through the physical monuments initially present around the Eduardo Virmond Suplicy square, the contents can be viewed and ’collected’ since at each interaction with the monument, one or more cards will be made available. In them, there will be different categories, such as images, technical data and information about the fact represented in the monument. Also, extra information that can be curiosities, testimonials, short videos, among others, providing a plurality of resources that will facilitate and contribute to a meaningful learning.
