dc.description.abstractThe Brazilian food industries obtained a net annual billing of R$ 497 billion in the year 2016 (ABIA, 2017). According to ABRAMAN - Brazilian Maintenance Association, approximately 2.6% of this billing (equivalent to R$ 12.9 billion) was spent on industrial assets maintenance activities. To ensure the industrial assets optimum operating performance, and consequently increase industrial productivity, the maintenance management must plan maintenance activities so that financial, materials and human (maintenance technicians) resources are optimized, that is, that it results in a balance between the applied resources and the results sought by maintenance engineering: as guarantee of reliability and availability operational. This article demonstrates the AHP multi criteria analysis method application for decision making as to the selection of appropriate maintenance techniques and strategies to a enrobing machine, industrial asset that is part of a food industry located in the region South of Brazil. As a result, the ordered classification of the maintenance strategies defined for the blanketing machine was obtained. Autonomous maintenance was established as the priority strategy, presenting a performance value of 0.300, due to intrinsic actions from this maintenance policy such as: LPP, Work Instruction (IT), cleaning and inspection that corroborate the need to avoid outbreaks of contamination of product.
