dc.description.abstractIn this work we present a study carried out in the official documents with the purpose of analyzing how the Resolution of Problems is treated in such documents. In addition, some considerations are made on Problem Solving, and on Problem Solving as Teaching-Learning-Assessment-mathematics methodology, based on the studies developed in the área. As to the chapter of the textbook, it was done in a brief history regarding the same, in addition to a study of public programs of distribution of books - PNLD, and its importance in classrooms. For the analysis of the chapter of the functions of the textbook was selected from an array of analysis, this was done the analysis of the chapter of the book and the teacher's manual in accordance with the official documents and the Resolution of Problems such as methodology. Arriving at the result that the textbook analyzed in relation to the content of functions is adequate in relation to Resolution of Problem.
