In recent years, dealing with issues related to the environment has been of significant importance, adopting Environmental Education (EE) is one of the alternatives for dealing address the topic. EE aims to create in each individual an understanding of co-responsibility, between him and the environment. In the year 2020, with the presence of the COVID-19 virus, and its danger, isolation and social distancing were installed worldwide. As a reflection on education, remote teaching was introduced, and together, new challenges. The objective of this work was to study the difficulties faced by educators, from public and private schools, working in elementary education, in Campo Mourão city, in the application of EE during remote teaching. Online questionnaires were applied to obtain data, and carried out comparisons between the bibliographic references and the data obtained. Twelve responses were collected from educators participating in the research, most of them working in grades of 1st and 4th year. The environmental perception of 83.3% of teachers is that there is an interaction between man and nature. When questioned, only 16.7% feel prepared to develop EE, which is a problem in Brazil, the lack of continuing education. Interdisciplinarity, defined by Law, is the way that most believe to be the ideal way to apply EE in schools. According to the results, there were changes in educational strategies, installed after the pandemic, where the biggest challenges faced are related to lack of access to technological resources and lack of practical activities. The adopted strategies were videos, online activities. Despite the difficulties, the understanding of EE by the students was seen as positive by the teachers, even with the lack of physical contact, listed as the most relative impact of remote education.
