| dc.description.abstract | This work had as thematic the environmental from perception examination, the which facilitate the acquisition from all and data necessary for the implementation of strategic measures of environmental management and education, facilitating the development of activities and obtaining immediate results in various themes. This study aims to identify the opinion of a part of the population regarding environmental issues in seeking to identify the environmental perception, opinion and the degree of knowledge that the population of Piratuba-SC municipality has in relation to the environmental issues. The methodology was based on the description of the data, which were obtained using standard technique of data collection, such as the questionnaire survey. We interviewed 356 residents and 254 residents of the urban area and 102 residents of a rural area. Based on the analysis of the data, it was observed that the population of Piratuba-SC has little knowledge of the environmental issues, and assumes no liability with respect to environmental problems. Also, is not involved, nor is interested in municipal issues. Still, there is a lack in the transmission of information by the government, which is weak compared to keep the public informed of all that is conducted in the city. However, there is the need for greater attention to environmental education practices aimed at awareness. Environmental education inserted into the routine of residents may reflect satisfactory results, such as changing daily habits to more sustainable habits. This is necessary because it is noticed that most of the population is only that which is ruled by the Government, there arises the importance of including environmental education in management activities. It was evident also, the need to establish new public policies for environmental issues in order to enhance public environmental management resulting in an improved quality of life of the population. | |
