dc.description.abstract | The objective of this work is, through experimental design methods, to identify and evaluate the degree of influence of the variables that affect the injection nozzle manufacturing process, in the stage of electrical discharge machining, which is a machining process that occurs by generation of controlled electric discharges between an electrode and the piece in a dielectric environment. Due to variations in the production process, generated by variables with still unknown levels of interference, there are problems such as: high scrap rates, long cycle times and differences between nozzles produced according to the same parameters. To better understand the behavior of the investigated variables, a study has been performed on the machine that makes the injection nozzles. After the identification and evaluation of the factors of influence, improvements have been done on the shop floor to optimize the process and, finally, a comparison has been made of the machine’s productive effectiveness before and after the proposed improvements. | |
