dc.description.abstractThe technological revolution brought by the Internet of Things aims to connect everyday objects to the Internet, generating a wealth of information that can be used in many areas, including research and scientific production. The combination of this technology and the concept of green roofs presented the opportunity of collaboration between this project and a master’s research which has the goal of comparing types of green roofs. From this union, a wireless sensor network was defined and implemented to monitor a comparison prototype between two green roof models. This prototype was installed onto a terrace in the city of Curitiba. The wireless sensor network was implemented with the purpose of taking readings on sensors installed in the prototype, sending the collected data to a server available on the Internet, where this information is processed, and made available for access at any time. This monograph intents to describe the process of planning, development and installation of this sensor network, as well as presenting the results obtained, problems encountered and possible improvements.
