The beef cattle in Brazil has great importance, because it has highlighted in the national economic scenario, moving the country's economy. Brazil has the second largest commercial herd in the world, but remain low reproductive rates, usually resulting from failures in management, nutritional and reproductive mainly. The uterine infections are present in great part of the Brazilian herd, being one of the main causes of infertility may affect from 5 to 40% of the cows in the period post-puerperal cycle. They are usually caused by nonspecific bacteria present in the intrauterine environment, resulting from catarros genitals that are characterized by an inflammatory process that affects the uterus, cervix and vagina. The present study was carried out on the Fazenda São Marcos, located in the municipality of Dois Vizinhos - PR, where there are no records about the prevalence of uterine infection in cattle of compost are Mark and their crosses. Had as objective to evaluate the prevalence of uterine infection in a group of 58 cows from the compost São Marcos (½ Marchigiana + (½ Aberdeen Angus) and another group of 69 cows half blood (½ composed + ½ zebuíno) in two seasons of the year, spring and autumn, using the vaginoscopia method which is one of the most used techniques for the diagnosis of endometrites, due to its speed, low cost and ease in the exam. Furthermore, it was evaluated the efficiency of the treatment with antibiotics, where cows with amendment were medicated with two doses of oxytetracycline L.A. I.M (20mg/kg of live weight, at an interval of 4 days. The average genital catarrh of the compound Are Mark and half blood was 5.51%. The percentage of pregnant cows of the compound São Marcos or half blood increases from spring to autumn, being possible to achieve rates above 70% at the end of this season. Being possible for the treatment of genital catarros in beef cows, with low cost, convenience and great rates of cure with parenteral antibiotic therapy. The uterine infection is a reproductive disease that occurs with low prevalence in beef cows in the region of the valley of the Iguaçú, both in autumn and spring.
