The mortared ceramic block masonry system is a process widely used for the manufacture of vertical seals in Brazil. The present work aims to develop a new tool regarding the perceptions of the civil construction workforce, which aims to prevent occurrences of unevenness in the execution of vertical masonry walls, which have been shown to be common in the daily life of the construction site and can generate several harmful consequences in the course of activities. For this, four prototype copies of the tool were produced so that the construction worker could build masonry with these new devices. At the end of the application, an interview was conducted in oral format, with voice recording, to collect the necessary data. Four professionals were contacted, who used the tool experimentally and expressed their experiences. It was found through the results that despite the compatibility of the labor concerns with the proposal presented, there was a universal obstacle to the use of the new tool. The adaptation suggestions, however, showed divergences, and were analyzed descriptively regarding the feasibility of adaptation. The need for complementary training was not identified, since the professionals reported intuitiveness in the way of using the device. Thus, it was possible to obtain an overview of the phase in which the tool is, being the biggest obstacle related to the conformation of the tool to the ceramic blocks found on site, due to the great variation between elements of the same load. Further studies will still be needed to define the correct path for tool model changes.
