dc.description.abstractWith the increased use of the herbicide glyphosate in agriculture and possibility of accumulation in the human and animal organism, it is necessary to investigate whether in the soybean grains, the presence of glyphosate occurs. This work describes how this grain arrived in the state of Paraná, the properties of soybean and its importance in human food. Presents too how the agrochemical glyphosate can accumulate in the human body and what damages this can cause. The objective is the physical-chemical characterization and verification of a methodology already presented in the literature to identify the presence of the herbicide glyphosate in the soybean grain. The results showed that the studied samples of the Farm Vovó-Zinha and Itaipú presented, respectively, humidity of 12.81 and 11.70%, ashes 4.36 and 4.29% and protein of 53.00 and 41.85% , In addition to detecting in both the presence of the herbicide derivative glyphosate. With the positive result for the accumulation of glyphosate herbicide in the grain, it is possible in a future study, through a standardized methodology, to quantify glyphosate and to verify if it is within the limits recommended by ANVISA. If it is above national standards, more studies should be carried out and, above all, raising the awareness of people, who in the majority seek a healthier diet with soybeans and derivatives, but do not know the possible health risks due to the accumulation of glyphosate.
