dc.description.abstractWith the evolution of technology, the demand for lighter materials, with superior strength and which enables be tailored to a specific need has been growing increasingly. As a solution, the composites have been widely used in various industrial fields such as automotive, aeronautical, bioengineering, construction among others. This paper presents the manufacture of composite materials with emphasis on the filament winding process, and aims at designing a tensioner mechanism that is integral to the development of a filament winding machine to be constructed in the laboratory of new materials UTFPR campus Cornélio Procópio.
