dc.description.abstract | This project consists of the study of a mixed system of thermal energy reuse provided by woody biomass combustion and solar energy in order to heat up water. The study is based on evaluating the necessity of thermal energy reuse improvement of a wood burning stove through the recovery of energy present in the exhaust gases and also heat up water for residential use. In order to this, a model of a heat exchanger with its dimensions was developed, to conduct this heating and provide the reduction of electric energy used to heat up water in the residential environment. Along with that, the solar thermal energy utilization to promote water heating and assist the heat exchanger in the woody stove was also evaluated and consequently making it possible to compare and evaluate the savings caused by the water heating mixed system. | |
