This document presents the final paper with focus in power systems and microcontroller systems areas. It will address issues about Synchronized Phasor Measurement System (SMFS) and Phasor Measurement Units (PMU). This paper proposes the development of a low cost PMU that meets the standards set by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and provide a breakthrough in the Smart Grids technology. The steps for the development of PMU will be detail, jointly with analyzes of phasor estimation methods and the acquisition and synchronism procedures. Finally, the obtained results, detailing compliance from the standards and showing the estimated phasors along with other information of the prototype.
