Prevenção e controle de doenças e agravos por meio da implantação de melhorias sanitária domiciliares: o caso da comunidade de Linha Caçador no município de Treze Tílias - SC

Abstract

The main scope of this scientific article was to address the importance of basic sanitation for the population residing in the rural perimeter, specifically the Linha Caçador community. Thirteen Tílias, a municipality located in the middle west of Santa Catarina was colonized by Austrian immigrants who left Europe due to a serious economic crisis that plagued the country. Immigrants arrived in the new homeland and were divided into colonies (lines) around the headquarters of the new municipality. With the political-administrative emancipation, among the numerous measures taken over the years, the municipal public power invested in basic sanitation to improve the quality of life of the thirteen urban dwellers in the urban perimeter. With the help of the federal government and municipal counterpart, Treze Tílias developed the Household Sanitation Improvement Project, through the installation of individual cesspits, in order to reach rural properties that did not have sanitary sewage treatment. The methodology used was the qualitative research, through which it was possible to verify the improvement in the quality of life of the population, the reduction of diseases and environmental pollution in the community of Linha Caçador. This project is of fundamental importance to provide improvement in the quality of life of rural dwellers, avoiding contamination and proliferation of diseases due to the lack of sewage treatment, as well as the guarantee of the preservation of the environment, water quality, soil and donate.
