Viabilidade econômica do uso de um aviário ocioso: um estudo de duas alternativas de produção

Abstract

This paper aims to evaluate the Economic Viability comparing the transformation of 2 idle aviaries in conservatories for the cultivation of strawberries semi hydroponic located at Piraí do Sul, situated in the Campos Gerais’ area in the state of Paraná. In methodological terms in this case study, cash flows were compared in the production of chicken to the cash flows of the production of strawberries, using the Present Net Value, Internal Rate of Return, Profitability Index and Payback. The transformation of the aviaries in conservatories had a foreseen investment of only R$126.111,40 in comparison of the R$ 231.088,26 of necessary investments to the adequacy of the aviaries to the continuity of the chicken production. It is projected an annual production of 57.600 Kg of strawberries, revenue of R$ 253.440,00 per year, against R$ 75.162,47 of the chicken production. It is projected a revenue at the end of this project around R$437.893,37 for the cultivation of strawberries and a loss of R$ 506.428,00 for the chicken production. Considering all the involved costs, for the foreseen levels of production and commercialization, it may be concluded that the investment is totally viable from the economic and financial perspectives, presenting high rentability on the invested capital and better working conditions in the crop management, becoming an income source to the small rural producer.
