Considering researches regarding the creation of the character aunt Nastacia, in the matter of racism (LAJOLO, 1998; GOUVÊA, 2005; FRANÇA, 2006), it was analyzed in this final paper the representation of the old and black woman in the character aunt Nastacia, looking for to highlight the fundamental role and characteristics that she represents being the voice and representation of popular customs and knowledge. To do so, we consider texts about black feminism (GONZALEZ, 1982), as well as the black movement in Brazil (NASCIMENTO, 1977) and the importance of black people in the formation of Brazilian society (FREYRE, 1977; MOURA, 1992), in order to establish comparison between the representation of the old and black women in brazilian children's literature and the representation of this woman in society of the early twentieth century. Despite elements of racist construction, aims to demonstrate that aspects such as: the culture of oral tradition may be rescued; the made of dolls, called abayomi in Yoruba, and the relations with Afro-Brazilian religions. In this way, the character aunt Nastacia assumes a fundamental role in the narrative of the analyzed novels, Reinações de Narizinho and Histórias de Tia Nastácia written by Monteiro Lobato.
