Análise de investimento para plantio de eucalipto e pinus em pequenas propriedades rurais

Abstract

Investments related to silviculture activities have been gradually increasing in Brazil, a country where most rural properties are owned by small farmers. This study case has as object of study a small rural property located within the city of Sao Lourenço do Oeste, state of Santa Catarina. There, a question was raised and clarified: Eucalyptus or Pinus, which culture brings better financial returns? This study aims to clearly demonstrate which one is the best investment choice to be made in the analyzed property. To accomplish that, NPV, IRR, VAUE and Payback analysis tools were used, in order to give concrete and secure support to the owner when making the decision on which activity invest.
