This paper presents the development of a suspension system commonly used in the automotive industry and in front of the other models of suspension presents as advantages the robustness required for irregular pavements and the fine adjustments; as disadvantages presents a larger unsprung mass due to presenting redundant components. High-performance and off-road vehicles make use of this double-wishbone suspension model. Particular concepts will be explained to the suspension system by predetermined parameters and identified properties as result of a physical geometry (arms, steering, brakes, pivots, axle sleeve, wheel, tire) and the dimensioning of the set as to vehicle dynamics. Knowing the set of geometries necessary to the project is to know the load to which the whole set will be submitted, for this work was used the block diagram that represents a spring mass model of two degrees of freedom that when submitted to an initial displacement provides in response the excitatory force and the responsiveness of the system. By means of the response force the three-dimensional models are subjected to a simulation to validate the suspension models for their mechanical resistance. Two models are simulated, the first model where their design was initially geometric and then the static analysis of the set and a second model where the geometric design was performed concomitantly with a pre-simulation of each component and a subsequent static analysis of the set. The results obtained are the first model of suspension failure for its mechanical resistance as well as a comparison of excitation and response force for models with different unsprung masses.
