Diagnóstico e análise comparativa do processo de projeto entre empresas atuantes na construção civil

Abstract

The systematization of the design process may provide improvements in construction. For this exploratory study an literature research was conducted, based on books and articles which addressed the design process for architecs and engineers. The research aimed to identify and highlight important design practices and tools adequate to optimize the project process for construction. The bibliographic research provided information to conceive a survey concerning the design process. The survey was applied on 165 different companies, divided into four operational fields: architectural designers; engineering designers; construction and/or developers companies; and "others". The objective in dividing the sample into groups was to analyze separately each sector, regarding the design practices and organizational features. The sample was statistically analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical techniques. The questionnaire analysis allowed to characterize companies regarding organizational characteristics, design practices and management processes. The inferential analysis enabled to differentiate the participating companies and emphasize factors that distinguish the groups. As result, noteworthy project management practices and organizational management strategies were selected.
