The present work records processes related to graphic design regarding the development of a children’s and youth comic book project. It was found that the use of a design methodology served well to establish the foundations for the development of the project, such as: research, conceptualization, prototyping, tests and feedbacks. Research on some reading problems in Brazil collaborated to situate the relevance of the graphic project, which is an incentive for young people to start reading, defined by the chosen story content and other comic book contexts. The adapted story, Enecoêma and the mystery of the blue jackdaw, highlights elements of Brazilian culture in Paraná, serving as a reference and incentive for other projects that will enhance human culture.
