dc.description.abstractConsidering Brazilian educational system, school dropout is one of the issues that worries leaders of Educational Institutions the most. One of the efforts provided by Brazilian leadership was to create professional and technological education through distance education modality, the so called e-Tec Brasil Network. Its main purpose is to develop professional and technological education through distance education in order to overcome school dropout. This study fits its purpose as it proposes a case study of one of the courses offered by e-Tec Brasil Network: Technical Course of Computer Science for Internet, provided by Federal University of Technology of Paraná State (UTFPR) - Ponta Grossa Campus and it aims to evaluate and investigate school dropout phenomenon. The Technical Course of Computer Science for Internet works in partnership with state-level educational institutions located in the municipalities of Porto Amazonas, Teixeira Soares, Reserva, Ivaí, Figueira, Balsa Nova, Curiúva, Apucarana, Cornélio Procópio and Guarapuava. As an applied and qualitative research, a five-point Likert scale questionnaire, with 20 (twenty) questions, was applied to 371 (three hundred and seventy-one) students who have dropped out the first and second editions of the Computer Science course. Analysis have shown that the difficulties with the use of technology to access and navigate on the MOODLE platform can be considered one of the main reasons that led students to evade. Results also point out that the difficulty in using a computer and the available system in order to exchange knowledge. For such reason, this study presents a Tutorial Video which main objective it to help MOODLE users by giving detailed information on accessing and navigating the platform, facilitating the knowledge exchange in any teaching-learning context.
