dc.description.abstractIn larger companies it is very common to use several methodologies, seeking the maximization of processes. Although these methodologies are applied in larger productive environments, it is possible to adapt them in small enterprises, whose operation is often small and easy to adjust. Given this, there is flexibility and accessibility, generating opportunities for the implementation of new tools for micro and small companies. The goal of this work is to conduct as applied study on the Lean Manufacturing method in a company in the animal nutrition segment located in the Southwest of Paraná. The Lean method aims to use tools to improve performance, cut waste, add value and ensure quality. The present work was divided into 6 stages: research planning, data collection and treatment, application of Lean tools, analysis, diagnosis and suggestions for improvements. The first visits in the company had the aim of planning the work and knowing the processes in detail. After planning, the visits were aimed at collecting as analyzing data. Then, the data were processed and associated with Lean method. Lean concepts and tools have been proposed according to the needs of the company. From this, the mapping of the processes and the mapping of the value stream were conducted, where it was found, through diagnostics, several bottlenecks and deficiencies in production. With is, suggestions were presented to the company’s managers, generating a proposal to implement improvements to be implemented later. All data and suggestions have been proved is report for the company, and some suggestions have already been applied. Studies like this can help and support companies that do not have access or knowledge about management tools, collaborating with local production.
