The objective of this study was to characterize the adult education student. Knowing who is this intended audience to whom this mode, the reasons that led these students to leave school regularly and what reasons did return to school, in this mode. And now after returning what are the prospects that these students have about their future. To this end a questionnaire was conducted with students included in this type of education in the city of Santa Helena-PR. With this study we can observe and verify the age heterogeneity of these individuals and show that most students who attend this type are low-income people, who are seeking through education to improve their conditions of life. You can also see that these students seek for knowledge beyond basic education. These individuals want to continue with their studies and obtain better jobs and thus achieve social mobility.
