Aplicação da confiabilidade utilizando DMAIC SEIS SIGMA em motores elétricos de locomotiva

Abstract

The focus of this research is to analyse one of the most important locomotive component, the traction motors. These motors must have high reliability to provide efficient rail transportation. Altough in the last three years these components have been presenting high warranty failures. In other words, the number of assembled motors that fails in a period less than six months are high. The warrant period is determined from the main heads in our mechanics superintendance. Supported by a quantitative data, obtained from the Back Shop’s reliability control spreadsheet and also with practical experiencing and a qualitative study, the main causes of traction motors failures inner six months period were identified.
