The use of prostheses is an alternative for individuals to become more independent and maintain a quality of life, being able to be used both in humans and animals. Thus, the same happens with horses, which are often sacrificed, due to the difficulty of acquiring a prosthesis, being at the high price they have in the market and by the majority of the companies residing abroad, which makes the deadline high. Therefore, this work has the purpose of realizing a project for prosthesis in thoracic limbs of horses, which has carbon fiber, 6061 aluminum and tire residue. Thus, a questionnaire will be carried out to determine the main characteristics that the prosthesis must possess, and using a horse as reference, the load imposed by the horse in the prosthesis, and a CAD model will be determined. Also, it will be used for structural analysis via finite elements to predict whether the prosthesis will withstand loading. In addition, a comparison will be made between carbon fiber fabrics having the 0 and 90 ° and 45 and -45° directions, to determine which of these two fabrics is most suitable in the design. Thus, it will be noted that the two fabrics will withstand loading without failure, however, the prosthesis being fabricated with carbon fiber fabric in the 0 and 90° directions will have a lower main maximum tension, thus, more Indicated for this project.
