dc.description.abstractThis dissertation aims to show the results of a research on research sequences developed by two teachers in their classes. Based on a proposal for the development of a research sequence in Sciences, it contributed to the training of teachers who work with the discipline of Science in the early years of elementary school. In view of this, an educational product called Proposal for the Development of a Research Sequence in Sciences was elaborated, which was made available to teachers who work in the fifth year of elementary education, and which contains guidelines for the development of activities based on teaching by researching. The main objective that guided this research was to interpret the perceptions and reflections of teachers who perform their work in the initial years of elementary school and who participated in this process with respect to the development of investigative sequences oriented from a proposal of investigative sequence. Therefore, it employs a qualitative research and uses the semi-structured interview for data collection from the participation of two teachers who work for a municipality in the north of Paraná. As main results and discussions, there are evidences of these teachers´ statements, who show themselves professionally open to improve their teaching training, as well as they have realized the necessity of a continuing education, since there is much to learn and to look for on teaching strategies. The study emphasizes that the participants have shown evidences of understanding the process of carrying out research activities, that is, they understood what constitutes teaching by researching and its characteristics. The results of this study understand that the application of this proposal to teachers of the initial years of elementary school has represented a contribution to the development of research activities in Sciences. In addition, this work has enabled the expansion of professional knowledge and training of these teachers, given their participation in this research.
