dc.description.abstractThe automation of business and industrial processes has grown. The automation reduces time to perform activities and the cost of operations. Reducing time is important for clients, institutions and users of services, however, the main goal is to increase the profit. In segments such as restaurants, with an increasing number of people making meals outside their home, people expect agility and effectiveness in weighing the dish, ordering accompaniments such as drinks, and paying in a buffetstyle restaurant. In addition to the use of computer systems that automate processes, these environments can count on automation of the weighing, for example. Weight balance that weight the dish and send data to printers are examples of this type of automation, which can be integrated with the system that automatically informs the weight to the cashier. Considering this context, it was developed an application for automation of the weighing process and order generation for restaurants. For the construction of the project it was used a Raspberry Pi with the application implemented in Java.
