Estudo do impacto econômico gerado pela utilização de agregado graúdo reciclado na construção civil

Abstract

Civil construction is responsible for most of the waste generated in the world, despite great capacity for reuse and recycling. The present work intend to compare the costs of the use of natural and recycled aggregates in Brazil. From the quantitative comparison, the purpose is to identify the economic impact generated in civil construction and from that identify the possible causes of desuse of recycled materials, as well as the challenges and opportunities in the sector. For the comparison, a survey of associated costs of the two classes of materials was made and subsequently applied in a real budget of a paving work. It was identified that the recycled aggregate has great potential for savings in budgets, being a viable alternative in several applications. The difference between the costs of recycled and natural aggregates can represent up to 52,51% savings in the amount spent with the material, in the case of total replacement of the material used in paving work in Curitiba. The possibility of a direct impact on the environmental panorama is also highlighted, with the reduction in the demand for natural aggregates and the inadequate destination if residues.
