dc.description.abstract | Due to the wide applicability, composite materials have been increasingly used. Among the various manufacturing processes, the pultrusion process stands out as a continuous process and low cost for implementation. In this work the composites were manufactured by the pultrusion process using as polymer matrix the polyurethane resin and as reinforcement the glass fiber and the defect of the formation of empty spaces was approached in the pultruded profile through the calculation of the current fraction of voids. The methodology used to calculate the fraction of voids was the rule of the mixture that makes use of the relative masses of the involved compounds. Finally, it was related the fraction of voids with the manufacturing process and the pultrusion machine used. | |
