| dc.description | La microcuenca quebrada El Pueblo, con una superficie de 7,9 km2, se encuentra ubicada en la subcuenca del río Pueblo Llano, municipio Pueblo Llano del estado Mérida. A través de los años, han ocurrido crecidas significativas que han causado la pérdida de vidas humanas y graves daños a la infraestructura ubicada en los alrededores de la quebrada. Durante el desarrollo del presente trabajo se identificaron y analizaron indicadores que permitieron evaluar y cuantificar la amenaza por fenómenos torrenciales y evaluar la vulnerabilidad de tipo social, económica y física. Se realizó además, la evaluación del riesgo, considerando diferentes variables y el estudio conjunto de las amenazas y vulnerabilidades ponderadas por el área, para posteriormente representar en un mapa las zonas de alto, moderado y bajo riesgo. La evaluación del riesgo en particular, es un insumo fundamental para el ordenamiento territorial, especialmente cuando se trata de determinar la aptitud ambiental de posibles zonas de expansión urbana o de localización de nuevas infraestructuras. La quebrada El Pueblo fue objeto de canalización en el año 2004, en el tramo que transita por el pueblo, por lo cual fue necesario determinar, a través del programa FESEC, aplicado en varias de las secciones transversales si su dimensionamiento permitiría el tránsito de crecidas, de diferentes períodos de retorno, el cual se comprobó favorablemente. No obstante, se pudo determinar que es necesario realizar un constante y adecuado mantenimiento (limpieza) del canal, así como la construcción de un dique abierto de retención de sedimentos aguas arriba del mismo, a fin de asegurar el tránsito de los caudales máximos estimados para diferentes períodos de retorno. | |
| dc.description | The “El Pueblo” micro-basin stream, with a 7.9 km2 surface, is located in the sub-basin of the Pueblo Llano River, at the Pueblo Llano Municipality from Merida State. Along the years, there have been meaningful rises at the river level that have cause the loss of human lives and serious damages to the infrastructure located around the stream. During the development of this paper there were indicators that were identified and analyzed to allow the evaluation and accounting of the menace represented by the torrential phenomena as well as the evaluation of the vulnerability in the social, economic and physical aspects. Besides, risk evaluation was performed, taking into account different variables and the ensembled study of the menaces and vulnerabilities pondered by the area, to furtherly represent the high, moderate and low risk areas in a map. The risk evaluation is particulary a fundamental input for territorial ordering, especially when it is about to determine the environmental attitude of possible zones apt either for the urban expansion or the location of new infrastructures. The “El Pueblo” stream was channeled in 2004, specifically the part that goes through the town. This made necessary to determine, with the help of the FESEC program (applied in some of the transversal sections) whether its dimensionality would allow the transit of higher river levels, with different periods of return. This was satisfactorily proved. However, it was possible to determine that it is necessary to perform a constant and adequate maintenance routine (cleaning) of the channel, as well as the building of an open dike to retain sediments at the upper part of the stream, with the purpose of assuring the transit of the maximum water levels calculated for different periods of return. | |
