dc.descriptionEl arribo de los primeros volúmenes impresos a la Mérida colonial, se remonta a los inicios del proceso de exploración, conquista y ocupación efectiva del territorio americano llevado a cabo por la Corona española. Sin duda, a lo largo del periodo colonial hispanoamericano, el tránsito de saberes a través de materiales impresos jugó un papel fundamental en la penetración de las culturas amerindias y en la expansión de la cultura europea. No obstante, el pasado del impreso se remonta a tradiciones milenarias y su difusión se debe en gran parte a los viajes intercontinentales e interoceánicos que abarcan desde la civilización islámica hasta los puertos atlánticos españoles. Por tal razón, su estudio y comprensión permite abrir otra ventana en la búsqueda por conocer cómo se llevó a cabo el intercambio de ideas en el proceso de mundialización a partir de 1492; asumiendo como protagonista de primer plano un producto cultural esencial en el desarrollo de la civilización occidental: el libro.
dc.descriptionThe arrival of the first printed volumes to the colonial Merida, goes back to the beginnings of the process of exploration, conquest and effective occupation of the territory carried out by the Spanish Crown. Undoubtedly, throughout the Spanish-American colonial period, the transit of resources through printed materials played a fundamental role in the penetration of Amerindian cultures and in the expansion of European culture. However, the past of the document goes back to ancient traditions and its diffusion is due in large part to intercontinental and interoceanic trips that range from the Islamic civilization to the Spanish Atlantic ports. For this reason, its study and its meteo capacity allow opening another window in the search to know how the exchange of ideas was carried out in the process of globalization from 1492; assuming as protagonist of foreground an essential cultural product in the development of Western civilization: the book.
