| dc.description | Se explora el tratamiento dado por el Platón temprano a diferentes falacias no formales en los enfrentamientos de Sócrates con los sofistas, con el objetivo de aclarar la posición del filósofo con relación a la retórica de su época. Para ello hemos dividido los tipos de argumentos analizados por Platón en “personales” y “frente a la Asamblea”. Dentro de los personales estudiamos el argumento de autoridad, el hecho de “pasar por alto” elementos importantes para la discusión y el “querer estar de acuerdo” para evitar la discusión. Entre los argumentos ante la Asamblea se estudia “la burla”, “la súplica”, el papel de los “discursos largos”, al tiempo que se discute el papel del sofista, el filósofo y el pueblo frente a esos argumentos en un régimen democrático como el Ateniense. Se concluye revisando el origen histórico de la forma de argumentación sofística y su incompatibilidad con la platónica. | |
| dc.description | This paper explores the treatment accorded to different non-formal fallacies in the confrontations between Socrates and the sophists in Plato’s early work, in order to clarify his position with regard to the rhetoric of his times. Accordingly, the arguments analyzed by Plato have been divided into “personal” and “before the Assembly”. In the former, the objects of study will be the argument basedon authority, “omitting” elements that are important for the discussion and “the desire for agreement” to avoid discussion. Among the arguments before the Assembly, “mockery”, “entreaty” and the role of “long speeches” will be studied. There is also a discussion of the role in these arguments of the sophist, the philosopher and the people in a democratic régime like that of Athens. incompatibility with the Platonic variety. | |
