| dc.description | The work approaches the history of photography for the dead in Maracaibo, Venezuela, with special emphasis on this type of photography, tradition, boom and disuse in the collective imagination of the city and region. Are addressed equally, the cultural implications of that fact, reverence for the dead and the philosophy of the process itself; development in urban and rural areas of the of funeral photography, procession and grave visits. Records whose interest goes away of the dead to focus on the family and social event. We conclude by trying to explain the reason for the removal of such rituals in the photo and social scope. | en-US |
| dc.description | El trabajo aproxima a la historia de la fotografía de difuntos en Maracaibo, Venezuela, con especial énfasis en este tipo de arte, su tradición, auge y desuso en el imaginario colectivo de la ciudad y región. Se abordan, igualmente, las implicaciones culturales de ese hecho, la reverencia a los muertos y la filosofía del proceso en sí y el desarrollo en los ámbitos urbano y rural de la fotografía de velorio, cortejo y visitas de tumbas; registros cuyo interés se aleja del muerto para enfocarse en el ámbito familiar y social del acontecimiento. Se concluye tratando de explicar el motivo del alejamiento de tales rituales en el marco fotográfico y social. | es-ES |
