| dc.description | The Delay/Disruption Tolerant Networking (DTN) architecture has become a low-cost technology to provide rural communications in developing countries. This paper presents a study of the architecture and it analyzes its possible application in rural areas in Cuba. In this study the following key aspects are reviewed: store and forward and custody transfer mechanisms, nodes´ characteristics, naming, addressing and binding, contacts between nodes and routing algorithms. Future development of the architecture is also discussed. Finally, the implementation of this new architecture abroad is also studied in order to use these projects as a basis for the introduction of DTN in Cuba. | en-US |
| dc.description | Las Redes tolerantes al retardo e interrupciones se han convertido en una tecnología de bajo costo para brindar comunicaciones rurales en países en desarrollo. Este trabajo tiene como propósito evaluar esta nueva arquitectura y analizar su posible aplicación en zonas rurales de montaña en Cuba. Para esto se estudian algunos aspectos claves: mecanismo de almacenamiento y reenvío, transferencia bajo custodia, características de los nodos, la forma de nombrarlos, contactos entre nodos y algoritmos de encaminamientos empleados; también se analizan las futuras tendencias en el desarrollo de este tipo de red. Por último, se estudian proyectos actuales donde se emplea esta nueva arquitectura; estos proyectos serán tomados como base para la introducción de las DTN en el país. | es-ES |
