dc.descriptionThe following essay about the etymology of the word “Alumno” is based on a complete, rigorous and reflexive investigation focused on a documental study. Also, it has as a main purpose to expose the origin and the evolution of such a word through a diachronic pass in order to clarify the doubts generated by its connotation. This is confronted with an elemental opposition: positive or negative. For this reason, the ideas which are presented try to make clear the positive sense that the word “alumno” has, denying that supposition based on just simple speculations: a lumen: sin luz. It is important to mention that the essay begins with a brief exposition of the word “Alumno”, and then, it answers four important questions, such as: Is it from Greek? Does it come from Latin? Is it composed by a meaning sin, and lumen meaning luz? Are there proves that explain its positive connotation? These questions are answered in order to clarify each idea, taking into consideration arguments and reflections, avoiding wrong and speculative judgments.en-US
dc.descriptionEl presente ensayo acerca de la etimología de la palabra “Alumno” se basa en una investigación exhaustiva, rigurosa y reflexiva de tipo documental. Asimismo, tiene como propósito fundamental exponer el origen y la evolución de dicha noción a través de un recorrido diacrónico a fin de dilucidar las inquietudes que se han generado en torno a su connotación, confrontada con una elemental antítesis: positiva o negativa. Por tal motivo, los planteamientos asumidos buscan dejar en claro el sentido positivo que tiene la palabra alumno, desmintiendo aquel postulado, basado sólo en meras especulaciones: a lumen: sin luz. Cabe destacar que el ensayo comienza con una breve exposición de la palabra alumno para luego darle respuesta a cada uno de los 4 interrogantes planteados: ¿Es de origen griego? ¿Viene del latín? ¿Se compone de a significando sin y lumen significando luz? ¿Existen evidencias que comprueben su connotación positiva? Dichas interrogantes son respondidas, buscando siempre, a través de argumentos y reflexiones, aclarar cada planteamiento, evitando en todo momento caer en juicios erróneos y sin fundamentos.es-ES
