dc.descriptionEl presente artículo se presenta como una reflexión del proceso formativo del ingeniero, pero no solo como profesional preparado dentro del área técnica, sino también como ciudadano, como actor social activo en su entorno y sus competencias cívicas sobre el mismo. Como docentes no solo tenemos la función de preparar a los futuros profesionales que egresarán de cada una de las casas de estudios donde trabajamos, sino además debemos educar a los ciudadanos, a los actores sociales que con sus conocimientos y sus aportes mejoraran nuestra sociedad. A través de la educación en valores y para la ciudadanía se logrará rescatar la identidad de las personas y la sociedad desmejorada y desalentada en la que vivimos.es-ES
