dc.descriptionThe objective of this article is to analyze the critical and aesthetic conceptions of the Venezuelan story in the context of the anthologies published at the end of the 20th century. Through the works "El cuento venezolano. Anthology ", by José Balza (1985) and" Twentieth Century Venezuelan Tales ", by Gabriel Jiménez Emán (1989), aimed at recognizing the selection processes of authors and works, in the context of the trajectory followed by the anthologies of the story Venezuelan in the second half of the century in question. The type of research corresponds to the documentary mode, of an analytical nature. The publications studied go back to the canon of the modernist-criollista tradition and opt for an update that includes elements of contemporaneity, without dissociating from an important antecedent represented by the anthology of the Venezuelan story by Guillermo Meneses (1955). In the analyzed works incorporates writers and works of a time closer to the said anthologies, however, there is no assessment of changes and changes in gender, which, however, it is exceeded by the quality of the texts selected in these compilations.  en-US
dc.descriptionEl objetivo de este artículo es analizar las concepciones críticas y estéticas sobre el cuento venezolano en el contexto de las antologías publicadas a fines del siglo XX. A través de las obras “El cuento venezolano. Antología”, de José Balza (1985) y “Relatos venezolanos del siglo XX”, de Gabriel Jiménez Emán (1989), se buscó reconocer los procesos de selección de autores y obras, en el marco de la trayectoria que siguen las antologías del relato venezolano en la segunda mitad del siglo en cuestión. El tipo de investigación corresponde a la modalidad documental, de carácter analítico. Las publicaciones estudiadas se remontan al canon de la tradición modernista-criollista y apuestan a una actualización que incluye elementos de la contemporaneidad, sin desvincularse de un antecedente importante representado por la Antología del cuento venezolano de Guillermo Meneses (1955). En los trabajos analizados se aprecia incorporación de escritores y obras de un tiempo más próximo al de dichas antologías, no obstante, hay ausencia de valoraciones sobre los cambios y transformaciones del género, lo que, sin embargo, es superado por la calidad de los textos seleccionados en estas compilaciones.es-ES
