| dc.description | The time of the independence process is signed for different figures, actions and ideologies that have been made the national history. It is a time where different politics, economics, socials and religious ideas have been concealed and unconcealed too. Complicated debates, actions and wars can be studied as the result of visions, free wills and thoughts of people who wish the best organization for the newborn nation. Those same people, humans beings with different cultures, education, spirituality and economics situations, have been very important for the history and have been given their legacy to future generations, where even today we can found conflicts not yet concealed. It is not a strange thing to find, in the historic investigation, different thoughts and actions of the most important figures of the national history. Some of them have been, and appeared to be more studied than others, Domingo FaustinoSarmiento, for example, is still the center of a lot of debates, even totally opposites. But in others, perhaps not yet sufficiently studied, we can found the same problem. One of them is Pedro Ignacio de Castro Barros. About him, we are going to focus in this article. Illustrious priest of the Catholic Church, who lived in a tense and complicate religious context, and congressman of the Congress of Tucumán in 1816, where the liberty of the country was declared. There, his action has been remarkable and the facts in his biography have left as a legacy a lot of new debates, some of them troublesome even today too. In this article, we will intend to make an approach to the life of this important man, as a priest and as a congressman. We will use different historical and historiographical sources to show these differences and also highlight their thinking, both theological and political, and principal actions in the events referred to Congress of Tucuman. | en-US |
| dc.description | La época del proceso independentista y de los primeros intentos de organización nacional está signada, si bien es cronológicamente breve, por multiplicidad de actores, acciones e ideologías diversas que han ido sucediéndose y forjando la historia nacional. Es una época en la que se han encontrado, y también desencontrado, diferentes ideas políticas, económicas, sociales y religiosas. Arduos debates, diálogos, acciones y guerras pueden ser estudiados como el resultado de visiones, voluntades y pensamientos de personas que deseaban la mejor organización para la naciente nación. Esas mismas personas, seres humanos con culturas, educación, espiritualidad y situaciones económicas diferentes, han protagonizado hechos históricos, han legado sus pensamientos a futuras generaciones. Hoy, desde la investigación historiográfica, podemos hallar controversias aún no conciliadas. En efecto, no nos resulta extraño encontrar en la investigación histórica divergencias y diferencias en el pensamiento y las acciones de algunas personas ilustres que forjaron la historia nacional. Algunos de ellos han sido y parecen ser más estudiados que otros, recordemos por ejemplo el caso de Domingo Faustino Sarmiento, que es aún motivo de debatey análisis desde diversas perspectivas, inclusive a veces antagónicas. Pero en otros, que quizás todavía no hayan sido suficientemente estudiados, podemos descubrirnos en la misma realidad. Uno de ellos sin duda es el P. Pedro Ignacio de Castro Barros, en quien focalizaremos el presente trabajo. Ilustre pastor dela Iglesia católica, en un contexto religioso y en ocasiones tensionado, diputado firmante del Acta de la Independencia Nacional en el Congreso de Tucumán en 1816. Su actuación allí ha sido remarcable y los hechos de su extensa, pero no menos apasionada, biografía han dejado gran cantidad de nuevos debates y aproximaciones también conflictivas, múltiples, a veces irreconciliables. Nos proponemos entonces acercarnos al célebre religioso y congresal desde diferentes fuentes históricas e historiográficas, mostrando esas divergencias y destacando también su pensamiento, tanto teológico como político, y principales acciones en los acontecimientos referidos al Congreso de Tucumán. | es-ES |
